Fistful of Frags, instead, is a game with almost authentic gunplay which rewards a cool head, a steady hand and knowledge of the weapons you're using. This has produced a culture of "spray and pray" gameplay where spamming blind fire in an enemy's general direction is the road to success. I've been playing FPS games from before I spoke English, and without fail they've almost always centred around fast automatic weapons with large magazines and quick reloads, or otherwise large area of effect explosives. It takes place somewhere in the American West circa the 19th century and features gunplay appropriate for the era, which is to say many slow-firing repeating weapons, many single-shot weapons and even many melee weapons. Allow me to explain why.įistful of Frags is a Wild-West-themed FPS, focused on arena gameplay (for now). And it's also something I will bet real money you haven't played before, but really, really should. It wasn't until I saw a gameplay video on YouTube that I realised what kind of a gem I'd passed over because of a stupid name. For instance, when I saw Fistful of Frags on Steam, I scoffed in its general direction and moved on. Sometimes (not often, but sometimes) being a snob has its downsides.
